I wanted to surprise my granddaughter and her boyfriend with anime characters of themselves for Christmas. Nic was so supportive and understanding of what I needed. We were on a time crunch and he came though for me. Love, love, love the finished product.

Definitely give this one a read! It’s got major vibes from X-Men and The Matrix with a big splash of Irish Mythology. There’s lots of nods to pop culture which I appreciated. Some chapters, particularly in the 2nd half really had me at the edge of my seat and wanting more. My personal favorite chapter is “Stranger in the Dark”. The characters are great, the writing is well done and moves at a nice clip. There are some strong emotional moments that really puts the reader into the head of Cal and his experience with acceptance and lack-thereof. Half of the chapter “The Challenges That Shape You…” could be taken out of this book and stand on its own as a study of a character going through familial challenges and is very emotional.

I am LOVING this book!! This is an LBTGQ+ book, MM romance and is just such an amazing YA book!
If you like action this has action, it also has self-discovery and an unexpected romance. I also really enjoy N.M. Fischer's writing style, this book grabbed my attention as soon as I started to read it, and I hear this is book 1 of a series and look forward to book 2!
Overall, I was most happy to enjoy some escapism time with this :). Do yourself a favor and pick this one up!
